Christmas Cardinal W.I.P. (All other projects put on hold)

All other projects have been put on hold. I was able to talk to someone who owns a local business today. We talked about the possibilities of putting my art in his store. He agreed to it as long as I can come up with some drawings tat are nature related and realistic. So, for the time being, I will be working on some Cardinal drawings for Christmas since it's not too far away. I might even draw some for fall with some crows. But, the one above will be what I am currently working on. Also, If you would like to purchase signed and numbered print(s) of any of my art, you can contact me for more information at: phloxcreations@gmail.com

As always, I appreciate your support!
So, until then--

Khaleesi's Habitat Blueprints!!! :D

I have been looking at different terrarium designs and didn't find one that I really liked, so I made my own. This will be my big project around the beginning of the year. It will be big enough for her to spent her whole life in and live comfortably and happily. There will not be any fake plants in here once it's completed. All plants will be living. There will be a huge waterfall in the back with two Exo Terra Cascade High Performance Waterfall Pump and Filter sets in in as well as two Exo Terra foggers. The waterfall will be custom made as well and mounted to the wooden backboard. I hope she likes it when it's done!

So, until then--

Things to come!

As you all know, I have an iguana now. In about another year, she will out grow her 40 gallon tank. I have been thinking of ways to build her new tank and came to the conclusion of one I believe will work the best. I will be posting pictures of the building process as soon as I have the money to purchase all of the materials needed. I'm probably going to have to use the money I get back from taxes to make it, but it will be worth it once it's completed! I'll also be making a faux rock waterfall that will take up the entire back of her tank. the back of her tank will be 8ft long and 6ft tall. the sides will be 4ft long, 6ft tall. And the front will also be 4ft long, 6ft tall with a door that will swing outwards. the top will made out of the reptile screen. I have a lot of work to do. But i should have some photos; possible a video or two, to show you guys by March.
I will be posting some pictures next weekend of some of the drawings I have been working on. Sadly, things came up and I was not able to post any drawings last weekend or this weekend. But, next weekend I will post several that I have been working on.
Also, The weekends of September 5th and September 12th will not have any art posted. I will be celebrating birthdays both of those weekends. And, the day before my birthday; the 12th, I will be going to the open house at the Art Institute in hopes of being able to start going back to school in January. So, until those two weekends come, I'll try to get as much art done as possible and posted.

So, until then--

Art College Possibility

Ever since before graduating high school in 2009, I have been wanting to to an art college. So, I have been looking into The Art Institute of Tennessee in Nashville. The only problems I have with going there is the drive and my job... The drive there is about a hour and a half. Which, if my student loan payments are put on hold while I'm going back to school, then I will be able to afford the drive there and back. I RSVP'ed the open house on September 12th. I talked to my boss about the possibility of going back to school and he said he would work with me if I decided to go back. Now, I just have to make sure I'll be able to get the grants and loans I will need to be able to go. I really wanted to wait to go back to school until I got my current loans paid off, but I want to start making a career out of my art as soon as possible before the opportunity passes me by. To start with, I will be taking classes (if I get in) for graphic and web design. After that, I might take a crack at Animation. If you think it would be a good idea, let me know your thoughts in the comments below.

So, until then--

Update on everything!

I have not made anymore Youtube videos yet. Reason being, I need to buy the video editor now??? Why did it not say I would have to buy it after uploading one video??? It said it was free!!!

*sighs*
Oh well... I'll search for another one that will work...

In the meantime, I will be continuing Khaleesi's training and begin buying items to build an enclosure that is big enough for her when she's full grown. Also, I'll make another video continuing from the last one. However, it will not have any sound to it and it will probably be an hour or two long since I cannot edit it...

On another note, I decided not to become a bus driver because the guy who was going to hire me never called me back or answered my calls. I don't want to work for someone that cannot do something as simple as call back. Yes, I know he was most likely busy, but when you have to call about once a day to just get some easy questions answered and am unable to get ANYONE on the other end to pick up-- well, then I think it's best I look for work elsewhere...

Oh! And, I'm thinking of making some videos of Khaleesi during the whole process of her growth. That will be about 20 years of videos, but I will be going through all of the training, habitat building, bonding, comedy moments, bath times, food preparations, handling dos and don'ts, etc... I'm hoping it will help someone out who would like to have an iguana, but are unsure of what they are doing. Keep in mind, I am NOT a professional reptile care taker. This is a learning experience for myself. But it just might help someone out.

Anyways, back to the drawings. I will be working on more drawings next weekend. It might just be some sketches for practice, but I will post them on here as soon as I finish them.

So, until then--
